There are tons of writing exercises for you to choose from. Today I will show you some options that work for me. 1. The imperfect sentence: writers block is a tricky thing to unblock. It is caused by a desire to create the perfect sentence. Which you will never do. Along the way, you could throw away some great ideas because you don’t think they are perfect. So how do you fix it? With this exercise. Take time to write the worst sentence you ever could. You could use autocorrect to write it if you want. Another variant (and one that produces much more amusing results) is where you think of random words or phrases and use them in a poem format. I use autocorrect for this.
2. Timed writing: this exercise is exactly what it sounds like. Set a timer for fifteen minutes or longer and dedicate that to writing and writing only. If you can’t think of something to write about, use a prompt, which is a story starter for your writing. You can find millions of these online. It is important that you focus only on getting words down, and worry about editing AFTER the timer goes off. I always use prompts to write short stories, but you can dedicate it to anything you want, as long as it is writing related. Write a journal entry. Post your results here! I’m happy to see them! Questions and other comments are always welcome! Or email them to me, if you don’t want everyone else to see it. It’s cool that you decided to do this. It’s useful for aspiring authors like yourself. I also like your examples.

It was autocorrect. Blame everything on autocorrect. But thank you anyway.
